The Wallace Wilson Leadership Award is presented annually to a graduate of the UBC Faculty of Medicine MD undergraduate program or an individual who has completed the UBC postgraduate medical education program, who has demonstrated high ethical standards and outstanding leadership to the medical profession in areas of patient care, welfare of physicians and/or students, medical education, research, or community service.
Nominations are now open for the 2025 Wallace Wilson Leadership Award! Nomination deadline: December 1, 2024.

Eligibility
- Nominees must be a graduate of the UBC MD undergraduate program or an individual who has completed the UBC postgraduate medical education program.
- Nominator must be one of the following:
- an alum of the UBC MD undergraduate program or has completed
- a resident in the process of completing the UBC post-graduate medical education program
- a previous recipient of the UBC MAA Honorary Medical Alumni Award.
- Award(s) may not be nominated posthumously.
- Current members of the UBC Medical Alumni Advisory Council are not eligible for this award.
Nominations
The online nomination form consist of 4 sections:
- Contact information of nominator and nominee
- Reasoning why the nominee is deserving of the award
- A summarized curriculum vitae/online biography, maximum 5 pages. Please do not include the full list of publications.
- Where a curriculum vitae is not easily available to you, the Alumni Engagement Office is happy to assist. Please contact us at med.alumni@ubc.ca.
- Letter(s) of support, maximum 2 letters. Optional, but encouraged.
Nomination deadline: December 1, 2024
Only nominations received by the deadline date will be accepted. Incomplete nominations will not be considered. All nominations will be considered for up to 3 years from the original submission date.
Award Decisions
Nominations will be reviewed by the UBC Medical Alumni Advisory Council after the nomination deadline. All nominators will be notified accordingly.
