Official Contest Rules 

1. Contest 

1. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement and Madaisky Pollock LLP. are the contest sponsors of the Better Together Contest. 
2. This contest will run from 12:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time on August 15, 2024 until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on August 21, 2024, and the winner will be selected on or about August 23, 2024. 

2. How to Enter 

1. No purchase necessary. Limit of one (1) entry per Contest Entrant. 
2. To enter, take a photo of yourself and at least one other person (e.g. family member, friend, colleague) doing one (1) Activity. One (1) entry is equal to the number of visible faces in your one (1) photo. All entries will be entered into a random draw. 
3. Entries will be collected by an online form that will be sent to all registrants of UBC Medical Alumni Association Wellness Week 2024, including a consent to use of image or recording for all persons in the photos if applicable, on or about August 20, 2024.

5. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement reserves the right to disqualify any entry deemed inappropriate or not conforming to the Official Contest Rules. 

3. Prize 

1. The Prize is one (1) gift card to Cactus Club Cafe® with a value of $200.00 CAD. 
2. The Prize must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions of the prizes are permitted except by UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement at its discretion. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement reserves the right to substitute the Prize with another Prize of equal or greater value if any prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason. The Prize is not transferable, assignable, or redeemable for cash or credit, in whole or in part. 
3. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement may require winners to sign a liability/publicity release, including a consent to UBC posting the winner’s name and photograph on its website. If a winner fails to return the contest documents within the time specified by UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement, they will forfeit their prize and an alternate winner will be selected.

2. To enter, take a photo of yourself doing one (1) new-to-you Activity. The activity should be one that you have never done before. All entries will be entered into a random draw. 
3. Entries will be collected by an online form that will be sent to all registrants of UBC Medical Alumni Association Wellness Week 2024, including a consent to use of image or recording for all persons in the photos if applicable, on or about August 20, 2024.

2. This contest will run from 12:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time on August 15, 2024 until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on August 21, 2023, and the winner will be selected on or about August 23, 2024. 

2. How to Enter 

1. No purchase necessary. Limit of one (1) entry per Contest Entrant. 
2. To enter, take a different photo of yourself doing one (1) different Activity per day between August 15-21, 2024. One (1) valid entry must include seven (7) unique photos. Activities can be athletic (e.g. yoga, rollerblading, dog walking, hiking) or relaxing-based (e.g. journaling, meditation, drawing, puzzles). 3. Entries will be collected by an online form that will be sent to all registrants of UBC Medical Alumni Association Wellness Week 2024, including a consent to use of image or recording for all persons in the photos if applicable, on or about August 20, 2024.

2. This contest will run from 12:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time on August 15, 2024 until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on August 21, 2023, and the winner will be selected on or about August 23, 2024. 

2. How to Enter 

1. No purchase necessary. Limit of one (1) entry per Contest Entrant. 
2. To enter, take a photo of one (1) food dish that you prepared, cooked, or baked, such as a vegetable curry, pasta salad, or sourdough bread. Photos of pre-prepared food dishes (e.g. a store-bought chocolate cake, restaurant takeout beef stew) are not eligible. All entries will be entered into a random draw. 
3. Entries will be collected by an online form that will be sent to all registrants of UBC Medical Alumni Association Wellness Week 2024, including a consent to use of image or recording for all persons in the photos if applicable, on or about August 20, 2024. 
4. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement reserves the right to disqualify any entry deemed inappropriate or not conforming to the Official Contest Rules. 

3. Prize 

1. The Prize is one (1) private Pilates session at Meridian Pilates Studio in Vancouver valued at $105.00 CAD. Must redeem by August 21, 2026. 
2. The Prize must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions of the prizes are permitted except by UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement at its discretion. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement reserves the right to substitute the Prize with another Prize of equal or greater value if any prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason. The Prize is not transferable, assignable, or redeemable for cash or credit, in whole or in part. 
3. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement may require winners to sign a liability/publicity release, including a consent to UBC posting the winner’s name and photograph on its website. 1. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement and Organika Health Products are the contest sponsors of the Hydration Hero Contest. 

1. This contest will run from 12:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time on August 15, 2024 until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on August 21, 2024, and the winner will be selected on or about August 23, 2024. 

2. How to Enter 

1. No purchase necessary. Limit of one (1) entry per Contest Entrant. 
2. To enter, take one (1) photo of yourself showing how you are creatively staying hydrated, e.g. drinking water, eating fruit, eating soup. All entries will be entered into a random draw.   
3. Entries will be collected by an online form that will be sent to all registrants of UBC Medical Alumni Association Wellness Week 2024, including a consent to use of image or recording for all persons in the photos if applicable, on or about August 20, 2024. 
4. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement reserves the right to disqualify any entry deemed inappropriate or not conforming to the Official Contest Rules. 

3. Draw 

1. On or about August 23, 2024, a random draw will be conducted in or in the vicinity of Vancouver, British Columbia by UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement to select two (2) entries for the Prize. Two (1) entrants will be selected from all eligible entries received. The odds of being selected as a potential winner are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received during the Contest period. 
2. Before being declared a winner of the Prize, the selected potential winner shall be required to: (1) respond to UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement in accordance with Section 4.3 of these Official Contest Rules; (2) answer, without assistance of any kind, a mathematical skill-testing question, and to comply with these Contest Rules; (3) may be required to swear an affidavit at their expense indicating eligibility and compliance with these Official Contest Rules; (4) provide written release consenting to the use of his/her name, city or province of residence and/or photograph or likeness, without compensation, in any publicity carried out by UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement and/or its advertising and promotional agencies relative to this Contest; and (5) may be required to sign release and indemnity at their expense whereby the winner releases and indemnifies and holds harmless UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement, its advertising and promotional agencies, the suppliers of the Prize, and all their respective employees, directors, officers, owners, agents, representatives, successors and assigns from any liability in connection with or arising out of the Contest, the awarding of the Prize, the use of the Prize or the use of any personal information. 
3. THE SELECTED POTENTIAL WINNER OF THE DRAW WILL BE NOTIFIED BY TELEPHONE OR E-MAIL NO LATER THAN August 30, 2024 at 5:00 pm Pacific Daylight Time using the contact information provided by the Contest entrant at the time of entering the Contest. Upon notification, THE SELECTED POTENTIAL WINNER OF THE DRAW MUST RESPOND WITHIN TEN CALENDAR DAYS by telephone or email to the contact number or email address provided in the notification. The selected potential winner’s response must be received by UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement within such ten calendar day period of such notification. 
4. If a selected potential winner fails to meet any of the requirements set out in these Official Contest Rules, they will be disqualified and another entrant will be selected from the remaining eligible entrants and, upon notification, will have TEN CALENDAR days to respond. 

4. Prize 

1. The Prize is two (2) packages of Organika collagen powder valued at $100.00 CAD each. 
2. The Prize must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions of the prizes are permitted except by UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement at its discretion. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement reserves the right to substitute the Prize with another Prize of equal or greater value if any prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason. The Prize is not transferable, assignable, or redeemable for cash or credit, in whole or in part.

2. This contest will run from 12:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time on August 15, 2024 until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on August 21, 2024, and the winner will be selected on or about August 23, 2024. 

2. How to Enter 

1. No purchase necessary. Limit of one (1) entry per Contest Entrant. 
2. To enter, track your steps through your personal electronic device or other appropriate method on Sunday, August 18, 2024, 00:00 to 23:59 and submit a photo of your result. The Entrant with the highest number of steps will be declared the winner. In the event of a tie, a random draw will be conducted to determine the winner. 
3. Entries will be collected by an online form that will be sent to all registrants of UBC Medical Alumni Association Wellness Week 2024, including a consent to use of image or recording for all persons in the photos if applicable, on or about August 20, 2024. 
4. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement reserves the right to disqualify any entry deemed inappropriate or not conforming to the Official Contest Rules.

1. The Prize is one (1) five (5) time pass to Spin Society – Downtown Vancouver valued at $135.00 CAD.
2. The Prize must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions of the prizes are permitted except by UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement at its discretion. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement reserves the right to substitute the Prize with another Prize of equal or greater value if any prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason. The Prize is not transferable, assignable, or redeemable for cash or credit, in whole or in part.

1. Contests are open to entrants residing in Canada during the contest and who are the age of majority in their province of residence, excluding Quebec residents (“Entrant(s)”). 
2. UBC Medical Alumni Advisory Council Members, Wellness Week Organizing Committee members, UBC Faculty of Medicine Development and Alumni Engagement employees, and Event Sponsor employees or their families are not eligible to enter these contests.

2. Draw 

1. On or about August 23, 2024, one (1) random draw per Contest will be conducted in or in the vicinity of Vancouver, British Columbia by UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement to select one (1) winning entry unless otherwise specified. One (1) entrant from each Contest will be selected from all eligible entries received. The odds of being selected as a potential winner are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received during the Contest period. 
2. 3. General Rules 

1. By participating in this contest, each entrant and winner agrees to: (a) be bound by these Official Contest Rules and the decisions of UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement; and (b) release and hold harmless UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement and the Wellness Week Organizing Committee from and against any and all liabilities, losses, claims, demands, costs and expenses (including lawyer’s fees and litigation expenses on a solicitor and own client basis) whatsoever to which any of them may become subject arising from any actions or omissions by the entrant. 
2. By participating in this contest, each entrant and winner agrees that UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement may post the winner’s name on its website. 
3. The decisions of UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement in relation to this contest will be final and binding on all entrants. 
4. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or suspend this contest, at its discretion, at any time without prior notice. 
5. Each Prize claim is subject to verification by UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement and/or its designated representatives. Entries made with multiple addresses, under multiple identities, or through the use of any device or other method to enter multiple times or entries that are in excess of the permitted number of entries are automatically void. All contest entries obtained through unauthorized sources or which are incomplete or in any way not in compliance with these Official Contest Rules are automatically void. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement is not responsible for lost or late entries. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement is not responsible for any miscommunications, failed communications systems, software malfunctions, or for any human errors in connection with this contest. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement may suspend or terminate this contest if UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement is of the view this contest’s administration or fair play has been compromised. 
6. Your personal information is collected under the authority of Section 26(c) of the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FIPPA). This information provided to enter this contest will be used only to administer this contest, and for no other reason. Questions about the collection of this information may be directed to UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement at med.alumni@ubc.ca. 
7. Contests are subject to all applicable laws of the Province of British Columbia and the laws of Canada, as well as these Official Contest Rules. 

4. Internet Disclaimer 

1. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement and its agents are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, traffic congestion or the Internet or any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer, related to or resulting from downloading any materials in this contest. 
2. UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement reserve the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement or its agents corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement reserve the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
