Dear Members of the UBC MSAC Community,
I wanted to provide an update on the gym for our members and students. The gym will be undergoing repairs for approximately the next two weeks. It will still be open, but a large section will be enclosed where they are working to replace windows and siding. This work is being done because of chronic leaks.

Dear Members of the UBC MSAC Community,
We hope this message finds you well. We would like to inform you of an important update regarding UBC Medical Student & Alumni Centre (MSAC) membership (including the gym) fees for residents and alumni within the UBC medical alumni community.
Starting on November 1, 2023, the UBC Medical Alumni Association (MAA) simplified its membership program, making membership to the UBC MAA automatic for all UBC MD alumni and learners in the UBC Medical Residency Program. This important change ensures that all UBC medical alumni, now and in the future, can easily maintain their connection with the UBC MAA and foster a more inclusive, united, and robust alumni community.
Without the annual UBC MAA membership fee and to ensure the continued maintenance of the UBC MSAC and the UBC MSAC Vancouver gym, the UBC MSAC is introducing a new annual building access membership program with a nominal fee.
Features:
- 24/7 access: The building and gym is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, giving you the flexibility to study or exercise whenever it suits you
- Gym equipped with cardio machines, free weights, squat rack, benches, mats, and other equipment for your work-out needs
- Locker to store your belongings and shower rooms
- Fully equipped kitchen
- Study rooms and gathering spaces
Starting January 2024, an annual UBC MSAC membership can be conveniently purchased through the following link:
The membership costs are outlined as follows:
UBC MD Alumni/Former Residents: $240 per year
Current UBC Residents: $120 per year
Memberships are for 12 months from time of purchase, not calendar year.
Current UBC MSAC Vancouver access holders can continue to use the building and facilities until after the first week of January. Please note that staff are on site between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this adjustment. Your continued support ensures the upkeep of our facilities for the benefit of the entire UBC MSAC community.
