From illustrations of health care and wellness to UBC-landmarks, biology, and cartoons, there is something for all ages and colouring prowess!

Colouring Contest

Colour your way to a UBC Faculty of Medicine Colouring set, all ages welcome! We’re giving away one prize to each of the following categories:

UBC Faculty of Medicine Colouring Contest
Official Contest Rules

  1. Contest
    1. The UBC Faculty of Medicine Colouring Contest, sponsored by the UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office
    2. This contest will be run from 12:01 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time on August 24, 2021 and closes at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on September 30, 2021, and the winner will be selected on October 1, 2021.
  2. Eligibility
    1. This contest is open to entrants residing in Canada during the contest, excluding Quebec residents (“Entrant(s)”).
    2. UBC Faculty of Medicine Development and Alumni Engagement employees and their families are not eligible to enter this contest.
  3. How to Enter
    1. No purchase necessary. Unlimited entries per Contest Entrant.

    3. Colour one (1) page of the UBC Faculty of Medicine Colouring Book digitally or print out and colour.
    4. Scan or save your artwork into a high-resolution PDF file, 300 dpi if possible. One (1) entry is one (1) coloured page of artwork.
    5. Entries will be collected by an online form: https://ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0xmfgYvq0fcfguG, which includes an image consent to use. Entries may be posted on the UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office website and shared in other mediums.
    6. The UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is deemed inappropriate or does not conform to the Official Contest Rules.
  4. Draw
    1. On or about October 1, 2021, three (3) random draws will be conducted in Vancouver, British Columbia by the UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office to select one (1) entry for each of the three (3) following categories:
      1. Entrants aged 12 years and under
      2. Entrants aged 13 to 18 years
      3. Entrants aged 19 years+
    2. One (1) entrant will be selected from all eligible entries received. The odds of being selected as a potential winner are dependent upon the number of eligible entries for each category received during the Contest period.
    3. Before being declared a winner of one (1) of the three (3) Prize, the selected potential winners shall be required to: (1) respond to the UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office in accordance with Section 4.3 of these Official Contest Rules; (2) answer, without assistance of any kind, a mathematical skill-testing question, and to comply with these Contest Rules; (3) may be required to swear an affidavit at their expense indicating eligibility and compliance with these Official Contest Rules; (4) provide written release consenting to the use of their first name, city or province of residence and/or photograph or likeness, without compensation, in any publicity carried out by the UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office and/or its advertising and promotional agencies relative to this Contest; and (5) may be required to sign release and indemnity at their expense whereby the winner releases and indemnifies and holds harmless the UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office, its advertising and promotional agencies, the suppliers of the Prize, and all their respective employees, directors, officers, owners, agents, representatives, successors and assigns from any liability in connection with or arising out of the Contest, the awarding of the Prize, the use of the Prize or the use of any personal information. Entrants under the age of 18 at the time of their contest entry submission must have a parent or legal guardian complete the requirements in Section 4.2 of these Official Contest Rules.
    4. THE SELECTED POTENTIAL WINNERS OF THE DRAWS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY TELEPHONE OR E-MAIL NO LATER THAN October 4, 2021 at 4:00 pm Pacific Daylight Time using the contact information provided by the Contest entrant at the time of entering the Contest. Upon notification, THE SELECTED POTENTIAL WINNERS OF THE DRAWS MUST RESPOND WITHIN TEN CALENDAR DAYS by telephone or email to the contact number or email address provided in the notification. The selected potential winner’s response must be received by the UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office within such ten-calendar day period of such notification.
    5. If a selected potential winner fails to meet any of the requirements set out in these Official Contest Rules, they will be disqualified and another entrant will be selected from the remaining eligible entrants and, upon notification, will have TEN CALENDAR days to respond.
  5. Prize
    1. The Prize is one (1) UBC Faculty of Medicine Colouring Set, which includes one (1) physical UBC Faculty of Medicine Colouring Book and one (1) UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement pencil crayon set, valued at $15.00 CAD. One (1) Prize will be given to each of the three (3) categories:
      1. Entrants aged 12 years and under
      2. Entrants aged 13 to 18 years
      3. Entrants aged 19 years+
    2. The Prize must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions of the prizes are permitted except by the UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office at its discretion. The UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office reserves the right to substitute the Prize with another Prize of equal or greater value if any prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason. The Prize is not transferable, assignable, or redeemable for cash or credit, in whole or in part.
    3. The UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office may require winners to sign a liability/publicity release, including a consent to UBC posting the winner’s first name and submission on its website. If a winner fails to return the contest documents within the time specified by the UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office they will forfeit their prize and an alternate winner will be selected.
    4. The prize(s) will be sent by mail to the winner’s Canadian address.
  6. General Rules
    1. By participating in this contest, each entrant and winner agrees to: (a) be bound by these Official Contest Rules and the decisions of the UBC  Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office; and (b) release and hold harmless the UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office from and against any and all liabilities, losses, claims, demands, costs and expenses (including lawyer’s fees and litigation expenses on a solicitor and own client basis) whatsoever to which any of them may become subject arising from any actions or omissions by the entrant.
    2. By participating in this contest, each entrant and winner agrees that the UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office may post the winner’s first name on its website.
    3. The decisions of the UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office in relation to this contest will be final and binding on all entrants.
    4. The UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or suspend this contest, at its discretion, at any time without prior notice.
    5. Each Prize claim is subject to verification by the UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office and/or its designated representatives. Entries made with multiple addresses, under multiple identities, or through the use of any device or other method to enter multiple times or entries that are in excess of the permitted number of entries are automatically void. All contest entries obtained through unauthorized sources or which are incomplete or in any way not in compliance with these Official Contest Rules are automatically void. The UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office is not responsible for lost or late entries. The UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office is not responsible for any miscommunications, failed communications systems, software malfunctions, or for any human errors in connection with this contest. The UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office may suspend or terminate this contest if the Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office is of the view this contest’s administration or fair play has been compromised.
    6. Your personal information is collected under the authority of Section 26(c) of the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FIPPA). The personal information provided to enter the Contest will be retained by the University of British Columbia for the purpose of contacting you to advise you of alumni-related news and information, event invitations and special services only available to UBC alumni.     7. This contest is subject to all applicable laws of the Province of British Columbia and the laws of Canada, as well as these Official Contest Rules.
  7. Internet Disclaimer
    1. The UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office and its agents are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, traffic congestion or the Internet or any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer, related to or resulting from downloading any materials in this contest.
    2. The UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of the UBC Faculty of Medicine Alumni Engagement Office or its agents corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest.
